Hello, friends! As a monthly service to my valued clients, I’m going to break down some of the real estate data numbers and help you make sense of them. This month, we’ll take a look at real estate-related labor and project wait times.
As labor shortages grow, so do project wait times. 4.5 weeks for Interior design firms and nearly 8 weeks for design firms across the Triangle.
Finish carpenters, general labor, and framers are the workers in shortest supply. The pipeline of workers entering residential construction is small.
Making matters arguably worse, the US has generally reduced occupational training in high schools and community colleges – exactly the type that would train the next generation of residential construction labor.
