If you know me, you know I love dogs, cocktails, and coffee, which is why I had to share this good news with you!
In February 2021, The Raleigh Connoisseur spread the word that “some real fun plans” were in the works for the land at 504 Hillsborough Street. CityPlat, the new owners of the property, announced that a dog park, with an outdoor bar, was the plan for the land.
For years, it has been used as a parking lot but now the triangle-shaped lot where Edenton merges with Hillsborough Street will have drinks served out of shipping containers, in a dog-friendly outdoor space.
The dog park and bar is said to feature concessions—think coffee and beer—retail, and a large area for dogs to play. They are hoping the space will be a spot where dog owners and dog lovers can connect, play fetch, and enjoy a drink, in the heart of the city.
I’ve been watching that site for years and finally, someone comes in with a very unique, very cool idea for it. The trees are mature enough to make the space feel cozy but open enough that you’re able to people watch as if you’re in a park,” says Gaurav “G” Patel, Senior Advisor at CityPlat.
I look forward to seeing you all there when it opens! I know my fur babies are going to love it.
