Are you looking for an easy way to put less waste out into the world? Enter The ReCollective! The ReCollective collects hard-to-recycle items—a.k.a the things that can’t go into your blue bin—that would otherwise be sent to a landfill, right from your doorstep. They ensure that these items are reused or recycled in transparent and responsible ways. This way, you are able to eliminate clutter in your home while also ensuring your common household items have a new life, rather than ending up in a landfill. The materials they accept historically have had low recycling rates, such as plastic film, expanded polystyrene, textiles, batteries, light bulbs, latex paint, small electronics, and more.
How it Works
- Sign up for ReCollective! Membership starts as low as $15/month for annual subscribers.
- Collect your materials in your ReCollective canvas bags at home.
- The ReCollective picks up your bags once a month.
- The ReCollective finds creative reuse and recycling solutions to keep your stuff out of the landfill.
Your items will now get a second life and you can rest easy knowing that you have saved items from the landfill!
So, Where Does the Stuff Go?
ReCollective works with a variety of recycling and reuse partners including Orange Recycling Services, Triangle Ecycling, Green Zone, Gather Green, Batteries Plus, MXI Environmental Services, and more.
The Team Behind ReCollective
I love supporting local companies, especially when those companies are doing something to help the community. Bryce and Kevin, two Triangle residents, co-founded theReCollective to help fellow community members divert waste and reduce climate impact. Bryce is also the owner of Durham-based Gather Green. I love that they have recognized that there is an urgent need for sustainable solutions and they are brining it right to your doorstep.
