A Round of Santa-Plause for These Christmas Mantels
I can’t resist a decorated mantel this time of year. Guests are always drawn to fireplaces and the fireplace mantel is a prime place to decorate for Christmas cheer. Southern Living has a great list of mantel decorating ideas to get the creative juices flowing. From large hurricane vases filled with beautiful candles to garland draped over the mantel, your fireplace might just steal all the attention from the tree.
Get in the Spirits
What’s a holiday gathering without a festive drink? “‘Tis the season for chocolate, cream, rum, bourbon, and warming spices.” Food & Wine is bringing you the Frozen Grasshopper, Buttered Rum, Homemade Eggnog, Anjou Punch, and more! Check out their list of recipes you are going to want to sip all season long.
**Pictured above is the Buttered Rum. “This luxurious, velvety drink is just the thing to sip on a cool night—and using a slow cooker makes it especially easy to pull together. Heat the cream and butter first, slowly so that the mixture doesn’t break. Then whisk in dark brown sugar, followed by spiced rum, salt, and a Moroccan spice mix. The end result is a richly flavored batch of drinks perfect for entertaining.”
Cookies Aren’t Just for Santa
We are sticking with Food & Wine for cookie recipes too! They are really bringing the heat this holiday season and are sure to help you get on the nice list. 😉 These fancy cookies are great for snacking, gifting, and more. The only hard part will be deciding which to bake first.
