As fall weather rolls into North Carolina I am reminiscing on my wonderful summer trip to Ireland with my family! It’s been a busy summer and I cannot wait to tell you all about our Irish adventures. With my hunky hubby by my side and our son, Anderson, along with his fiancée, Bridget, we set out to explore the captivating landscapes, admire the unique architecture, and indulge in quality family time. Oh, and maybe put on some goofy costumes for our Christmas card!
Stunning Scenery
Our adventure began with a scenic flight into the bustling city of Dublin. From the moment we set foot on Irish soil, the allure of Ireland’s rich history and stunning landscapes was immediately apparent, and we couldn’t wait to dive in. Ireland’s natural beauty is legendary, and we were determined to explore it to the fullest. The lush green countryside, dramatic cliffs, and pristine lakes took our breath away at every turn. The Ring of Kerry offered panoramic views that seemed straight out of a postcard, while the Cliffs of Moher stood as a majestic testament to nature’s artistry. We couldn’t help but marvel at the picturesque landscapes that surrounded us.
Hunky Hubby is a big golfer, so he was determined to get the inside scoop on Irish golf courses… and their surrounding real estate! Through his “research,” he was able to play four different Irish courses. These golf course communities boasted not only world-class golf courses but also stunning homes that blended seamlessly with the natural beauty of the surroundings. It was interesting to note the contrast between golf course communities. In Raleigh, the golf course communities are very suburban and homes tend to stand out. Irish golf course communities tend to blend with the natural landscape and have ample space between homes. Either way, it got me thinking about how nice it would be to live on a gorgeous golf course… I might just need to visit some more North Carolina golf communities to find out!
Architectural Marvels
One of the aspects of Ireland that truly left us in awe was its remarkable architecture. From the charming, centuries-old cottages in quaint villages to the grandeur of Dublin’s Georgian townhouses, Ireland’s architecture is a testament to its rich heritage. Each building seemed to tell a story, and we found ourselves captivated by the intricate details, vibrant colors, and the sense of history that enveloped every corner.
Memories That Last a Lifetime
Beyond the incredible sights and experiences, what made this trip truly special was the quality time we spent together as a family. We shared laughter, made memories, and even got to discuss a bit of wedding planning (coming soon!) against the backdrop of Ireland’s beauty. Whether it was enjoying a traditional Irish meal, hiking in the countryside, or golfing on some of the world’s best courses, these moments are etched in our hearts forever. It was a journey of discovery, inspiration, and, most importantly, a celebration of family bonds. As I cherish the memories and colorful details of our trip, I am grateful for the opportunity to share this incredible experience with all of you on this platform. Here’s to family adventures and the beauty of Ireland! Sláinte!
